Welcome to 4th Grade!
Stay up to date with current events happening in our class!
Good Afternoon! We are wrapping up plans for Raleigh and I appreciate your support and snack donations! I would like to have 2 additional chaperones on the trip, so if you are able to come along with us for the day, you would help make this trip run more smoothly! Let me know if you can help out!
Math: This week's sole lesson will be comparing fractions. By the end of the week students should feel comfortable with recognizing equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, and comparing fractions. Here's some extra resources if needed: www.khanacademy.org/math/cc-fourth-grade-math/cc-4th-fractions-topic On Friday, students will take a test on Topic 6 for a formal grade. Literacy: This week our literacy class is moving back into reading fiction! Knowing what we know about history (American Revolution, Civil War, etc.) we will now focus on reading historical fiction. More specifically, students will take the week to compare and contrast different points of view among characters in different stories. Students will have an exit ticket for an informal grade this week. Writing: This week students will learn the basics on writing narratives. They will work each day on their narratives. Integrated Studies: Last week students started researching different biomes around the world. This week, we will take that a step further and learn about the natural disasters that occur within each biome. Students will work on a group project to tell about the natural stressors on earth's environment.
