It's October! My favorite month! Please keep the Biztown permission slips and conference forms coming in! I need all Biztown forms/money in by October 12th. If you need help, let me know and we can start a payment plan. Here's next week's learning:
Math - In math we are practicing multiplication methods. By the end of the week students should be comfortable multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit. (59 x 4 or 123 x 6) This process is a lot smoother if students are confident with their multiplication facts. Please practice flash cards or online games to make sure your child is quick in determining multiplication facts! Literacy - Students are working on summarizing and determining the theme of a text. Ask your child how they practice summarizing by using the 5 finger summarizing skill (somebody, wanted, but, so then)! This week in writing, students will learn the 5 parts of a letter. By the end of the week, students should be able to write friendly letters, thank you notes, and business letters for their business. Integrated Studies - Students will start working on their Shark Tank project! They will create their own business. Each day will have a new task. Students are expected to complete a task every day. If they get behind, they will have to complete as homework! ANNOUNEMENTS: 10/3 - National Walk to School Day! 10/5 - Progress Reports go home (Don't be surprised - Check powerschool for your child's grades around the clock! You don't even have to wait for the report to come home!)
