Thank you all for your support, donations, and patience during planning for Raleigh. It's a lot of prep work, but it is such a fun trip! I hope everyone had as much fun as I did! Here's our last full week until Spring Break!
Needs: -Wide-ruled composition or spiral notebooks -A volunteer to help mark shirts during Fun Run Wednesday at 12:15 Cougar's Call: Monday and Wednesday students will work on March Spelling and wordly wise vocabulary work. Tuesday students will start the Math Mock EOG during this time. On Thursday we will switch for flexible math groups. Friday we will have morning meeting and catch up time. Math: On Monday we will compare decimals. Tuesday is a mock EOG. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we will review decimals in word problems and use them to talk about money. Literacy: This week we will continue EOG prep with a focus on narrative nonfiction. Students will take a close look at characters, setting, making inferences, summarizing, and theme. Integrated Studies: On Monday I will introduce our next big project for the year! Students will pick a native North Carolina animal to research. After researching this animal, they will draw or build an animal with the adaptation that will help the animal survive due to an Earth stressor (tornado, forest fire, flood, etc.) More information about the project will be sent home Monday in Cougar Folders. The rest of next week will be spent researching their animal, habitat, and stressor. HOMEWORK: -Topic 12 Math Study Guide -Adaptation Project! (Due Tuesday, April 10th) ANNOUNCEMENTS: -3/21 - Morning snack time. The Boosterthon Fun Run is at 12:15 with lunch in the classroom afterwards. -3/23 - Clubs -3/27 - 3/29 - I will be out these days. Students will have a substitute :) -3/30 - 4/8 - SPRING BREAK! -4/10 - Adaptation Project Due
