Welcome to 4th Grade!
Stay up to date with current events happening in our class!
Less than a week until the Raleigh Field Trip! I'm still putting the final touches on the bus/car list due to some changes. Our class is allotted 7 seats on the bus for parents, and we have a whopping 11 parents coming along! This is great but I have to do a little rearranging! Thank you all for being flexible and stay tuned this week for more details. I will post a separate update with Raleigh information tomorrow. Until Friday, here is what our week will look like:
In Cougar's Call on Monday morning we will complete the Cycle Assessment for the district. This is not for a grade, but instead used as data for the school and district. On Tuesday and Thursday we will start looking into our new math unit by reviewing multiplication and division facts. On Wednesday we will work on vocabulary and spelling words. In Math this week we start Unit 8. This week we will focus on making estimates, breaking apart large numbers and multiplying numbers. In Literacy now that we have finished our realistic nonfiction books, we will finish the unit by having a formal assessment on Wednesday. Next, we will start preparing for the EOG! To begin, we will focus on reading and analyzing poetry. In Writing we will continue learning capital cursive letters and using lowercase letters in complete sentences. In Integrated Studies we are continuing our studies on earth's stressors and how they affect living organisms. This week we will learn about the geological eras!
