Welcome to 4th Grade!
Stay up to date with current events happening in our class!
This update is a little rushed! I'm sorry in advance for the typos! Here's a look at this week's learning:
Math: This week we are focusing on division strategies. Over the week, students will learn multiple methods to divide multi-digit numbers with remainders. I highly recommend the box method seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rHnkkTY4DI Students will have an exit ticket/worksheet this week for an informal grade. Literacy: Using nonfiction text, students will continue reading about the time period following the American Revolution and the causes of the Civil War. Students will focus on the timeline of events in order to better understand this period in history. Writing: Students will create a 3 paragraph essay on the causes, battles, and aftermath of the American Revolution. Please note that if your child does not finish this essay, they will be required to work on it as homework throughout the week. This is due Friday 2/1 for a writing grade. This writing piece will also be considered when grading content, fluency, and conventions. Integrated Studies: This week students will learn about the causes of the Civil War as well as the Reconstruction Era after the war.
