Good afternoon! I hope everyone has a great 3-day weekend! Here's what next week looks like:
Cougar's Call: On Tuesday we will swap for targeted math instruction. On Wednesday and Friday we will work on vocabulary and spelling work. Thursday morning we will go over the Unit 7 Math test and make corrections as needed. Math: On Tuesday we will review the Unit 7 Study Guide. On Wednesday we will take the Unit 7, formal test. On Thursday we will start into our next unit, everyone's favorite, FRACTIONS! ;) Literacy: This week will be spent going over the formal from Thursday. We will review techniques for being a successful reader as well as teach about context clues. We will not swap on Thursday. Integrated Studies: We are continuing to learn about North Carolina's role in the American Revolution. Students have split up 5 major events (the Edenton Tea Party, Battle of Moore's Creek Bridge, Halifax Resolves, Battle of King's Mountain, & the Battle of Gulliford Courthouse) and they will present their findings on Wednesday in a skit, a powerpoint, or on a poster. On Thursday we will start looking into North Carolina's Bill of Rights. This will continue this topic into next week. HOMEWORK: -Read 2 and a half hours and log in agenda -Math Study Guide due TUESDAY! (TEST WEDNESDAY!!) ANNOUNCEMENTS: -1/15 - No School -1/17 - Unit 7 Formal Math Test -1/19 - House Meetings @3 -1/22 - No School -1/24 & 1/25 - MAP Testing -1/26 - Friday Clubs!
