Welcome to 4th Grade!
Stay up to date with current events happening in our class!
Biztown is Monday! (or today for those reading in the cougar folders) Let's hope everyone has a blast! Here's a look at the weeks learning:
Math: This week we will focus on reviewing multiplication, rounding, and adding/subtracting multi-digit numbers. Students will not swap for flex math grouping this week. Literacy: Students will look into finding the meanings of unknown words in reading passages and books. Last week students learned the WAC strategy for determining words in a passage. (W - word structure/prefix/suffix, A - apposition, definition given in same sentence, C - context clues, clues given in paragraph that lead to determining the meaning of a word) Writing: We are moving the published realistic fiction writing due date to this Friday 10/21. Students will spend the week editing and revising their stories. If not completed in class, students need take home for homework. Students will have a spelling test on the October words Friday! Integrated Studies: After our Biztown field trip, students will have a chance to reflect on their visit as well as the end of our first IB unit. This week students will write reflections and discuss the most memorable lessons from this past unit!
