Welcome to 4th Grade!
Stay up to date with current events happening in our class!
Good Afternoon! Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Our plans from last week are pushed into early this week, so take a look at our revised week:
Math: Monday we will wrap up Topic 3 and review the last of our multiplication unit. On Tuesday students will take a formal test. On Wednesday we will start our next unit on comparative multiplication. In this unit students will learn how to compare products using multiplication and also double, triple, etc. products (like in recipes!) Over the week students will take a quiz for an informal grade. Literacy: Students will continue to practice describing changes in characters, setting, and events in a story. On Thursday students will take a formal test in which they must read a fiction passage. Questions may ask about character traits, describing the setting, theme, or plot of the story. Writing: Students will continue drafting their realistic fiction passage on Monday. If students have not completed their realistic fiction draft by Monday, it will be homework. Starting Tuesday we will begin editing and revising. The final copy of their story will be due Monday 10/22. Integrated Studies: This week will be all about BizTown! As we gear up for our field trip, students will learn how a community runs. Some activities include: voting for town mayor, applying for a bank account, balancing a checkbook, and writing letters to the editor!
